Following his father’s footsteps, Bilson Jr. has contributed to Ghanaian choral music and music education, continuing his family’s musical legacy.

Known for his contributions to Ghanaian music education and choral development, Bilson Sr. fostered church music appreciation, especially in the Methodist Churches across Ghana. He composed the Ghana Methodist Church Choirs Association anthem,”Service to God.”

Emmanuel Owusu, a modern Ghanaian composer, has focused on integrating indigenous styles into accessible Church choral arrangements.

(1899–1995) Known as the “Father of Ghanaian Art Music,” Amu introduced traditional African rhythms and languages into choral compositions, setting the stage for Ghanaian nationalistic music.
